Emotional Wellness

Stress Management

In order to manage your stress, you must first acknowledge its presence and the exact stressor. Only then can you start to implement distressing methods into your daily life. Managing your stress can look different for everyone. Sometimes it means taking a break from social media or work to focus on yourself and how you feel. Unwinding with a book, coloring, or taking a nap are great ways to ease your mind for a bit.

Self Care

Are you taking good care of yourself? If not, how come? Do you feel as though you do not have the time or energy? It is important for everyone to take a break from work and practice self care. This could mean going on a walk, taking a nice bath, or even hanging out with a friend. It is also important to remember that taking care of yourself is not selfish, it is a necessity.

Optimism

A lot of people struggle with being optimistic. Sometimes there seems to be more reasons to be unhappy than happy. That being said, it has been scientifically proven that practicing gratitude has a significant effect on one's happiness. Appreciating what you have in life is the first step in achieving true, life-long happiness.

Mental Health

Similar to stress management, managing your mental health starts with being conscious of how you feel. Allowing yourself to feel your emotions helps you to know when it's time to seek additional help. This can mean reaching out to a family member or friend, meeting with a licensed professional, or talking to your doctor about other possible remedies such as medication.
